EPA extends RY2024 GHG deadlines to May 30, 2025
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final rule to extend the deadline for submitting annual greenhouse gas (GHG) reports for Reporting Year (RY) 2024. Typically, these reports are due by March 31 of the following year (i.e., March 31, 2025, for RY 2024). However, due to this rule, the deadline has been extended to May 30, 2025. This applies to all facilities and suppliers required to report under 40 CFR Part 98, the regulation governing the GHGRP.
The rule was published in the Federal Register and took effect immediately upon publication, with no public comment period, as the EPA cited the need for swift action to provide clarity to affected entities.
This rule does not change the deadline for future reporting, and it does not change the requirements for what regulated entities must report.
